NOTIFICATIONS

G S R. 670(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Beedi Workers Welfare Cess Act, 1976 (56 of 1976), the Central Government hereby fixes the rate of 10 paise per thousand of manufactured beedis, as the rate at which the duty of excise shall be levied and collected by way of cess for the purposes of the Beedi Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1976 (62 of 1976) with effect from 1st January, 1982.

[No. S-23011/1/79-M.V]G.S.R. 669(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3A of the Beedi Workers Cess, Act, 1976 (56 of 1976) the Central Government hereby exempts, from the levy and collection of cess under section 3 of the said Act, manufac- tured beedis which are wholly exempt from the duty of excise leviable thereon under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1096 GI/81 (1941)

G.S.R. 671(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 1 of the Beedi Workers Welfare Cess (Amendment) Act, 1981 (47 of 19*1), the Centra¹ Gov- ernment hereby appoints the 1st day of January, 1981 a* the date on which the said Act shall come into force.
