Subject : Clarification regarding the Import Policy of Stainless/Heat
Resisting Steel, folded sheets and angles.
File No. IPC/34/3 /8Z.—Attention is invited to entry Nos. 23 and G5 in
Appendix 8 of Import Policy 1981-82, published under the Ministry of Com- merce Public Notice No. 13-TTC(PN)/81 dated the 3rd April 1981, according to which import pi the following items inter-alja is cancelled through. MMTO/ Steel Authority of India Limited :—
(i) Hot roluled/colt! rolled plates/sheetn/atrips/coils in stainleaa/heat resisting steels in all grades excluding strips of specified description for razor blades (covered by entry No. 23 of Appendix 8).
(ii) Structurala in stainless/beat resisting steel* of all grade* (covored
by entry No. 65 of Appendix 8).
2. A question has arisen whether stainless/beat resisting steel, folded theet* and angles, are covered by the aforesaid descriptions. For the removal of any doubts, It is hereby clarified that the description of entry No. 23 above viz. "plates/sheets/strfps/coils" includes these items folded in any shape; and the description "structurals" referred to above includes "angle*".
