Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of sub- section (1) of section 149 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission hereby calls upto the said constituency to elect a person to fill the said vacancy before the 24th May, 1982 (Monday) in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the Rules and Orders made thereunder :

(a) the 24th April, 1982 (Saturday) as the last date for
making nominations ;
(b) the 26th April, 1982 (Monday) as the date for the
scrutiny of nominations ;
(c) the 28th April, 1982 (Wednesday) a* the last date for
the withdrawal of candidatures ;
(d) the 19th May, 1982 (Wednesday) as the date on which
a poll shall, if necessary, be taken ; and
O.N. 49(E).—In pursuance of section 56 of the Representa- tion of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Com- mission hereby fixes the hours from 7.30 A.M. to 4.30 P.M. a" the hours during which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken for the bye-election to the House of the People from 17- Diamond Harbour Parliamentary Constituency, to be held in pursuance of its notification No 100/WB-HP/1/82U), dated the 17th April, 1982.
(e) the 24th May, 1982 (Monday) ai the date before
[No. 100/WB-HP/iy82(3)] which the election shall be completed.
