Q.S.R. 366 (E).—Tn exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts the goods specified in the Table below when imported into India in connection with petroleum operations to be undertaken under a contract entered into by the Government of India, the Oil and Natural Gas Commission and a Foreign Oil Company, from the wholo of the duty of customs leviable thereon under the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975) and the addi- tional duty if any, leviable thereon under section 3 of the second mentioned Act. :

Provided that the essentiality of the imports is certified by an officer not below the rank of a Project Manager in the Oil and Natural Gas Commission.

G.S.R. 367(E).—In exercise of the powcra conferred by sub- section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (32 of 1962), read with sub-clause (4) of clause 44 of the Finance Bill, 1982, viiiich clause has, by virtue of the declaration made in the said Finance Bill, under the Provisional Collection of Taxes Act, 1931 (16 of 1931) the force of law, the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the noti- fication of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 60-Customs, dated (he 28th February, 1982 : -

In the Schedule to the said notification, after Serial No. 211 and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be in- serted, namely :--"212. No. 127/82 Customs, dated the 1st May, 1982".
