NOTIFICATIONS

New Delhi, the 22nd July, 1982G.S.R. 506(E).—In exercise of the powers con- ferred by sub- section (1) of section 25 of the Cus- toms Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Govern- ment, being satisfied that it is necessary in the pub- lic interest so to do, hereby exempts cylinder blanks of iron or steel, falling within Chapter 73 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), when imported into India for the manu- facture of industrial gas cylinders of a capacity of not less than 40 litres and conforming to the speci- 483 GI/82 (1)

fications laid down in IS : 7285-1974 or IS : 7312- 1974 of the Indian Standards Institution, from—

(i) so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is speci- fied in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of 40 per cent ad valorem; and

(ii) the whole of the additional duty leviable thereon under section 3 of the said Cus- toms Tariff Act.

2. This notification shall be in force upto and inclusive of the 31st day of March, 1984.

No. S 10|82-TRU(Cus.)] G.S.R. 507(E).—In exercise of the powers con- ferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Cus- toms Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), read with sub-section (4) of section 44 of the Finance Act, 1982 (14 of 1982), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, here- by makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 136-Customs, dated the 11th May, 1982, namely :

In the Schedule to the said notification, after SI. No. 210 and the entries relating there- to, the following SI. No. and entries shall be inserted, namely :—

"211. Nol 84-Customs, dated the 22nd July, 1982.".
