Now, theiefore, in cxciLisc of the poweis confcijed by sections 12 and 3,1 of the Drugs trad Cosmetics Act, 1940, (23 of 1940), the Cenlial Government alter consultation with the Drugs Technical Advisory Board, hereby makes the following niles further to amend the DILIKS and Cosmetics Rules, 1945, namely:—
1. These rules may be called the Drugs and Cosmetics
.(Third Amendment) Rules, 1982.

2. fn the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945,—
(i) after rule 150, the following rirle shall be inserted, namely :—
"150A. Standards for Cosmetics.—Subject to the pro- visions of these rules, the standards for Cosme- tics shall be such as may be presciibed m Sche- dule S.";
(ii) in Schedule A, in Foim 34, in item 7, foi sub item fd), the following sub item shall be substituted, namely :—
"(d) contains not more than parts per million of lead and parts per mil- lion of Aisenic contains more than parts per million of Lead and pails per million of Arsenic";
(in) after Schedule R the following Schedule shall bo inserted, namely :—
"Schedule S

Standaids for cosmetics :
Standaids for cosmetics in finished form —The follow- ing cownetics in finished form shall conform to the Tndian Stanards specifications laid down from time to lime by the Indian Standaids Institution.
1. Skin Powders
2. Skin Powder for infants
3. Tooth Power
4 Tooth Paste

G.S.R. 510(E).—Whereas a draft of certain rules further to amend the Drugs and Cowietio, Rules, 1945 was publi- shed, as. lequired by sections J2 and 33 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 (23 of 1940), under the notification of the Government of Tndia in the Ministry of Health and Family Wcliare (Department of Health) No. G,S R. 518(E), dated the 21st September, 1981 at page 1540 of the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-Tf, Section 3, Sub-section (i), dated the 21st September, 1981, inviting objections and sug- gestions from all persons likely to be directed tnereby before the expiry of ninety days from the date of publication of the diaft notification in the Official Gazette ;
