NO. 197/82-CUSTOMS

G.S.R. 533(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts Di- lso-butylene, when imported into India for the manufacture of Oxo-alcohol, from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Scheme to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), as is in excess of 45 per cent ad valorem :

Provided that the importer, by the execution of a bond in such form and for such sum as may be specified by the Assistant Collector of Customs, binds himself to pay, on demand, in respect of such quantity of Di-iso-butylene as is not proved to the satisfaction of the Assistant Collector of Customs to have been used for the aforesaid purpose, an amount equal to the difference between the duty leviable on such quantity but for the exemption contained herein and that already paid at the time of importation. 621 GI/82 (I) 2 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3tf)] NO. 198/82-CUSTOMS 2. G-S.R. 534(E) In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), read with sub-section (4) of section 44 of the FinHncc Act, 1982 (14 of 1982), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 136-Customs, dated the 11th May, 1982, namely :—

In the Schedule to the said notification, after Serial num- ber 212 and the entries relating thereto, the following Serial number and entries shall be inserted, namely :—

"213. No, 197-Customs, dated the 23rd August, 1982".
