NOTIFICATIONS

New Delhi, the 11th October, 1982

(NO. 225/82-CUSTOMS)G.S.R. 600(E).—In exorcise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it if necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts Colour Television Sets falling under Heading No 100.01 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975). when imported into India as baggage under and in accordance with the Order of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce No. 29/82, dated the 11th October, 1982 (relating to Open General Licence No. 23/82 dated the 11th October, 1982) made under section 3 of the Imports and Exports (Control) Act, 1947 (18 of 1947), from so much of the duty of customs leviable thereon under the said First Schedule as is in excess of 100 per cent ad valorem. 2. G.S.R. 6fll(E),—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub- jection (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is neceasarv in the pnblic interest so to do, hereby makes the following amendment hi the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 194-Customs, dated the 26th September, 1980, namely :—

In the said notification, the followinj? proviso shall be

added at the end, namely :•—

"Provided that during the period commencing on and from the 11th day of October, 1982 and ending with the 4th day of December, 1982, such exemption shall not apply to Colour Television Set" imported into India under and in accordance with the Order of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce No. 29/82 dated the 11th October, 1982 (relating to Open General Licence No. 23/82, dated Uw 11th October, 1982) mad© under section 3 of the Imports and Exports (Control) Act, 1947 (18 of 1947)."

C S J t. 602(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue and Banking), No. 318-Ciwlomi, dated the 2nd August, 1976, namely:—

In the said notification, the following proviso shall be

added at the end, namely :—

"Provided that during the period commencing! on and from the llth day of October, 1982 and ending with the 4th day of December, 1982, such exemption shall not apply to Colour Television Sets imported into India under and in accordance with the Order of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce No. 29/82, dated the llth October, 1982 (relating to Open General Licence No. 23/82, dated the 1 lth October, 1982) made under section 3 of the Import* and Exports (Control) Act, 1947 (18 of 1947)."
