NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, lie 14th October, 1982

S.O. 744(K).—In exorci!>Q of the powers confeired by sub- section (1) of section 29B of the Imluitriei (Development and Regulation) Act, 1951 (65 of 1951), the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendment* in the noti- fication of the Government of India in the late Ministry of Industrial Development (Department of industrial -Develop- ment) No. S.O. 98(F)|IDRA|2i>B|73|l, dated the 16th February, 1973, namely :—

In the said notification, in Schedule I—List of Reserved

Items for Small Scale Sector :—

(1) against Serial No. 117, for the entry in the thud column, the following ent<> shall he substituted, namely :—

' Rubber thread except bare rubber thread of over

80 guages and heat reskhng rubber thread".

(2) against Serial No. 365, for tht entry in the thjrd column, the following entry shall be substituted, namely :—

"Steel Vaults, Safes and Gash Boxes excluding tho following items of which detailed specification¹) are given below :

(I) Fire Resistant Record Protection Equipment test for two hours upto 1000 °C against the time temperature graph specified by the Interna- tional Standaid Organisation in fheir specifica- tion No. 1SOR-834. The test it inclusive of a drop test midway through the fire 'e s t- 1 he Cabinet to be tested and ccitifted by the Cen- tral Building Research Institute, Roorkce or similar approved testing organisation,

(If) Fire and Burglai Resistant Safe which can with-

stand 'Expert Test Attack' Expert Test Attack' is defined hereiinder as per recognised testing proccduie.

U) The testing party shall consist of two expe- rienced operations who havo studied the sample sate and are fully familiar with i',s detailed construction and opciation. They will also have fully studied, the detailed com- ponent and assembly drawing of the safe.

(ii) The tools available shall be all the common hand tools including sledge hammers upto 3 5 Kg. size and crow bar" upto H metres long power tools will include portable elet- tiic impact hammers upto 25mm size, portable drill pi esses or dnll holding mechnrusms 1o accommodate portable electric drills upto 12mm size; Carbidii tipped drills will be used (and not juet plain HSS drills). Alio power saws upto 200mm in diameter amd hole "awg upto 62.5mm in diameter and re- ciprocating sawj wilh, maximum blade length 200mm.

(hi) The objective will be of either miking a hole of minimum 40 Sq. CM or knocking off the lock and wedging open the door.

(iv) The total above test attack will last for a

specific time.

(Ul) Jewellers Safe.—which can withstand "Expert Test

Attack".

"Expert Teat Attack" is defined hcreunder as per

recognised testing procedure.

This will be as per fhe Piro and Bursar Resistant Safe

described above, but with the following vital additions :

(a) Oxy.—Acetylene gas cutting torch will be allowed for attack. The quantity of go" consumed shall be limited to 30 Cu.m. of combined total oxygen and fuel gas.

(b) One Combination Lock is mandatory on these Safes. The lock should bo manipulation proof nnd be capable of one million different combinations.

(c) There shall be provision for fitting a I movement
