C.S.R. 659(E).—In exeicise ol the powers convened by sub-section HI of section 25 of the Customs Art, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Centul Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public intciest so to do, hereby exempts melting sciap tf stainless steel, falling under Heading No, 73,03/05 o£ the Fiist Schedule UJ the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), when impoittd into India for use in an electric induction furnace oi furnaces in a small scale industrial unit, from the whole of the duty of customs leviable theieon which is specified in the said First Schedule :
Provided that the pioper officer is satisfied that, such imported melting scrap of stainless steel is intended for \isc in an electric induction furna:c or fui- naces in the said small scale unit.
EXPLANATION.—Vw the purposes 'of this notification, -small scale
industrial unit" means an industrial concern in which—
(i) the investment in machinery and plant is not in excess, (_.£ mptcs
twenty lakhs ; and
(ii) the aggregate capacity of the electrical induction lumaces in such
concern i.s not more than five hundred Kgs.
2. This notification shall be in force upto and inclusive of the 3 i jt Octoh-ei,
1983.
