NOTIFICATIONS

New Delhi, the 30th December, 1982

(MERCHANT SHIPPING)

S.O. 863(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub- section (1) of section 79 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958), the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the erstwhile Ministry of Transport and Com- munications (Department of Transport) No. S.O. 3138, dated the 17th December, 1960, with effect from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, namely :—

In the Schedule to the Bald notification, under the head-

ing "Grades of Certificates of competency",—

(a) after the words "Second hand of a fishing vessel;" occurring against item No. 1, the words "Dredger(1) 1131GI/82

(b) after the words ''Engine driver of a fishing vessel" occurring against item No. 2, the words "Dredge Engineer Grade I; Dredge Engineer Grade II; Dredge Driver Grade I and Dredge Driver Grade II" shall be inserted.

G.S.R. 864(E);—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-seotion (3) of section 78 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958), the Central Government hereby specifics the following other grades in respect of which certificates of competency shall be granted in accordance with the provisions of the said Act, namely :—

1. Dredger Master Grade I

2. Dredger Master Grade II

3. Dredger Mate Grade I

4. Dredger Mate Grade II

5. Dredge Engineer Grade I

6. Dredge Engineer Grade II

7. Dredge Driver Grade I

8. Dredge Driver Grade II
