2 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(i)]1951. (61 of 1951J, read with sub-rule (1). and the first pro- viso to sub-rule (2) of rule 4 of the Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954, thte Central Government, in consultation with the Government of WesL Bengal, hereby makes the following regulations further to amend the Indian Administrative Service (Fixation of Cadre Strength) Regula- tions, 1955, namely :•—
1. (1) The^e regulations may be called the Indian Admini- strative Service (Fixation of Cadre Strength) Amendment Regulations, 1983.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publi-
cation in the Official Gazette.
2, In the Schedule to the Indian Administrative Service (Fixation of Cadre Strength) Regulations, 1955, under the heading "West Bengal" for the existing entries, namely :—
"Secretary, Home (P&AR) Department — 1"
the following shall be substituted, namely :—
"Secretary, Education Department — 1"
G.S.R, 18(E).—la exercise of the powers conferred by iub-scction (1) of section 3 of the All India Services Act, 1951 (61 of 1951) read with rule 11 of the Indian Admini- strative Service (Pay) Rules, 1954, the Central Government, in consultation with the Government oL West Bengal, hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Indian Ad- ministrative Service (Pay) Rules, ll)>4, namely :—
Nole :—The principal regulations were published in the Gazette vide SRO No. 3350 dated 22-10-1955. The Regula- tions in respect of West Bengal Cadre have been amended vide GSR Nos. 450(E) dated 22-9-73, 373(E) dt. 26-8-74, 95 dt. 25-1-75 424(E) dt. 25-6-76, 654(E) dt. 28-10-77, 951 dt, 29-7-78. 176 dt. 16-2-80, 104(E) dt. 18.3.80, 571(E) dt. 7-10-80 and 618 (F) dated 20-10-1982.

tive Service (Pay) Amendment Rules, 1983.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of Iheir publi-
cation in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Indian Administrative Seivice (Pay) Rules, 1954, in Schedule ITI, under the heading "A-Postg carrying" pay above the time scale In the Indian Administrative Service under the State Governments", in the Table, against the entry "West Bengal" occurring in the first column, for the corres- ponding entries in the second and third columns, namely:—
"Secretary, Home (P&AR) Department—Rs. 30OO|-'V the following shall be substituted, namely :—
"Secretary, Education Department — Rs. 3000|-".
Note :—The Principal Rules were published vide Gazette No. 158 dated 14-9-1954. Schedule IIT of the Principal Rules in respect of West Bengal have been amended vide G.S.R. Nos. 374(E) dated 26-8-74, 425(E), dated 25-6-76, 859(E) dated 1-11-76, 655(E) dt; 28-10-77, 952 dated 79-7-78, 572(E) dt. 7-10-80 &, 619(E) dt. 20.10-82.
