Now, theicfoic, in exercise of the powers conferttd by section 26 ot tlie said Act, the Central Government heieby mukes the following rules further to amend Ihe Payment of Wages (Air Transport Services) Rides, 1968, namely :—
1. Thee rules may he called the Payment of Wages (Air
Ti an'port Seiviccs) Amendment Rules, 1983.
2. (a) In ol.iusj (c) of rule 2 of the said rules, for the
woids "l hitf Labour Commissions" the woids "Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Ccniial)" shall be substituted;
(b) In clause (1) of rule 2 of the said rules, the biacket and the woids "(Central)" shall be inserted after the words "Reg.unal 1 abour Commissioner";
3. (a) In rules 3 and 4 of the said rules, the btackeli. and the wotds "'(Central)" shall be inserted after the words "Regional Labour Commissioner";
4. In clause (7) of rule 4 and in rule 5 of the ?aid rules, the words "Kept at the establishment or as near to it as possible and" shall be omitted;
?. In rule 6 of the said rules the words "Kept at the
establishment ot as near to it as possible" shall be omitted;
6. In rule 7 of the said uilcs, the word "'Deputy" shall be inseited before the words "Chief Laboui Commissioner (Central)";
7. Foi sub-rule (1) of rule 8, the. followinjj sub-nile
and proviso shall be substituted, namely :—•
"(1) Rvery register maintained under the Act or these rules shall be maintained uptodatc, kept and preserved for a peiiod of three years after the date of last entry made theiein in the establishment :
Provided that the employer may with prior approval of the Regional Labour Commissioner (Central) preserve and keep the register at a place other than the establishment specified by him".
8. (a) Befoie clause (i) of sub-rule (1) of rule 11 of the said rules, the following clause shall be inseited, namely : "(i) the wage-period for which wages are payable";
(b) clauses (i) and (ii) may be renumbered as (ii) and
(iii);
(c) The word "and" appealing after clause (i) shall bo
omitted;
(d) after clause (iii) so re-numbered, the following clause
shall be inserted, namely :—
"(iv) the day or date on which unpaid wages arc to be paid indicating the ldcvant wage peiiod to which the unpaid wuses pertain. The employer may however dKsbuisc such unpaid wages on any day in addition to the prcscnbed day or date";

9. After iulc 11, the following rule shall tie inserted, (.Department of Labour)

"Il-A. Subdivision of payment,—Whenever an inspec- toi so desiies, the cmployei or hi, lepiescntaiivo of the establishment shall pay wages to the employed persons on (he notified date of payment in his presence."
10. In lule*. 13, 16 and ]7 of the said HIICT, aftci (he words "Regional Labour Commissioner", and the biacket and the word "(Cential)" shall be inserted.
11. In Foim-VIIf presciibcd under rule 16 of the said mies. for the figuics ll40fl" menl'oned under items 3(a)(b)(c) and items 4 and 5, the figure:, "lOflO" shall be substituted.
