NOTIFICATIONS
New Delhi, 19th February, 1983
O. N. 23 (E):—In pursuance of the provisions of sub- O. N, 22 (E)—Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the Council of States due to the resignation of Shri Sujan Singh a member elected to the Council of States from Haryana, before the expiration of his term of office;
section (1) of section 39 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission hereby appoints for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of its notification No. 100/CS-HN/1/83(1). dated the 19th Feb. 1983.
(a) 26-2-83 (Saturday) as the last date for making
nominations;

(c) 11-3-83 (Friday) as the date before which the election shall be completed.

N. 24 (E):—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 56 of the Representation of the People Act, 1*51, the Election Commission hereby fixes the hours from 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. as the hours during which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken for the election to the Council of Slates to be held in pursuance of its notification No. 100/CS-HN/l/ 83(1), dated the 19th February, 1983.

N. 25 (E):—In exercise of the powers conferred by flection 21 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission, in consultation with the Government of Haryana, hereby designates Sh. Sanghi, Under Secretary, Haryana, Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, Chandigarh to assist the Returning Officer for the election to the CouflcH of States to be held in pursuance of its notification No. 1OO/CS/-HN/1/83 (1) dated the 19th February, 1983 in the perfor/naiicc of his functions.
