NOTIFICATION

New DelW, the 19th March) 1983

S.O. I87(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by cl"u"e (1) o€ artkfr

258 of the Constitution of India end of ell other powers, enabling him in this

behalf, the President, with the consent of the Government of Tripura, hereby

entrusts to that Government, the functions of the Central Government under:—

(i) tbe Land Acquisition Act, 1394 (1 of 1894), except the function*

exercisable by the Central Government under the proviso to lUb-

section (1) of section 55 of the said Act; and

(ii) the Land Acquisition (Companies) Rules, 1963 in relation to the

acquisition of land for the purposes of the Union in the State

of Tripura,

subject to the following conditions, namely:—

(a) that in the exercise of such functions, the Government of Tripura

shall comply with such general and special direction! as the

Central Government may, from time to time, issue ; and

(b) that notwithstanding the entrustment, the Central Government may

itself exercise any of the said functions should it deem fit to do so

in any case.
