NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 31st March, 1983G.S.R. 305(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (6) of section 6, and clause (a) of sub-section (7) of section 7, of the Territorial Waters, Con- tinental Shelf- Exclusive Economic Zone and Other Maritime Zones Act, 1976 (80 of 1976), the Central Government hereby extends the Companies (Profits) Surtax Act, 1964 (7 of 1964), to the continental shelf of India and the exclusive economic zone of India with effect from the 1st day of April, 1983, subject to the restriction and modification that 1553 GI/82 (1)

Explanation.—For the purposes of this notification,

"mineral oil" includes petroleum and natural gas.

(a) the prospecting for or extraction or production of mineral oils to the continental shelf of India or the exclusive economic zone of India;
