S.O. 260(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Regional Rural Banks Act, 1976 (21 or 1976), the Central Government, on being requested so to do by Punjab National Bank establishes, with effect from the 31st March 1983 a Regional Rural Bank in the State of Punjab under the name of Gurdaspur Amritsar Kshetriya Gramin Vikas Bank which shall operate within the local limits of the districts of Gurdaspur and Amritsar in the State of Punjab.

S.O. 24>2(E).—In punuam e of sub-clause (hi) of clause (a) of sub-section (6) of section 42 of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 (2 of 1934), the Central Government hereby notifies, for the purposes of the said sub-clause, Gur- daspur Amritsar Kshetriya Gramin Vika& Bank, Gurdtispur being an institution established under sub-section (1) of sec- tion 3 of the Regional Rural Banks Act, 1976 (21 of 1976).
