1976 (21 of 1976), the Central Government, on being re- quested to to do by Syndicate Bank establishes, with effect from the 31st March, 1983 a Regional Rural Bank in the State of Karnataka under the name of Bijapur Grameena Bank which shall operate within the local limits of the district of Bijapur in the State of Karnataka.
