Maldevji Mandlikji, a member elected to that House from 5-Porbandar Parliamentary Constituency in the State of Gujarat;
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of sub- section (1) of section 149 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission hereby calls upon the said constituency to elect a person to fill the said vacancy before 18th May, 1983 (Wednesday), in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and the Rules and orders made thereunder.

2 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART H—SEC. 3(iii).O.N. 43(E).~In pursuance of the provisions of section 3(j of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission hereby appoints, with respect to the bye-election to be held in 5-Porbandar Parliamentary Constituency in the State of Gujarat in pursuance of its noti- fication No. 100/GJ-HP/l/82(l), dated the 12th April, 1983 :—
(a) the 19th April, 1983 (Tuesday), as the last date for
making nominations ;
(b) the 20th April, 1983 (Wednesday), as the date for the
scrutiny of nominations;
(c) the 22nd April, 1983 (Friday), as the last date for
the withdrawal of candidatures ;
(d) the 15th May, 1983 (Sunday), as the date on which
a poll shall, if necessary, be taken; and

(e) the 18th May, 1983 (Wednesday), as the date before
[No. 100/OI-HP/l/82(3)] which the election shall be completed.
