Subject : Export of Jute Carpet Backing Cloth.
File No. 18/1/83-E-I.—At present Jute Carpet Backing Cloth is not under Export Trade Control. It has now been decided to bring the item under Export Trade Control and to canalise its export to North American Countries through the State Traidng Corporation of India under 0GL:4. Export of the item to destinations other than North American Countries will be allowed on de-controlled basis.
Accordingly, the existing S.No. 71 will be re-numbered as 71(i) and the following entry shall be added theic- after as 71fii) in the Policy Statement in Volume-IT of Import & Export Policy 1983-1984 :-
