File No. IPC/54/76/80-81.—Attention is invited to the Department of Commerce Public, Notice No. 74-ETC(PN)/78 dated the 18th November, 1978 as amended from time to time, regarding Indo-Nepal trade.
2. It has been decided that import of raw jute and jute cuttinas, of Nepa- lese origin, from Nepal into India, will be allowed freely to all persons. The •intending importers shall, however, be required to register thei'- import con- tracts with the lute Corporation of India, Calcutta before clearance of the goods through customs. For this purpose, the importers should send two copies of the contract to the Jute Corporation of India of which one cop}, duly stamped by the Jute Corporation, will be returned to the concerned im- porter. The customs authorities will allow clearance on production of con- tract duly stamped by the Jute Corporation of India.
