G.S.R. 660(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Central Exubes and Salt' Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government hereby routes, the . following rules further to amefid th: Central Excise Finles, 1944, namely :

, 1. (1) These rules may be called the Central Excise (9th
Amendment) Rules, 1983.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publica-
tion in the Official Gaze.te.
2. In the Central Excise Rules, 1944, in rules 96-L, 96-R and 96-ZK, after the figures and letter "223-A.", the figures and le ter "223-B," shall be inserted.
