NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 20th August, 1983
S.O. 602(E).—~In exercise of the powers confer- red by sub-section (1) of section 21 of the Wakf Act, 1954 (29 of 1954), read with the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Law, Justice & Company Affairs (Legislative Depart- ment) No. 4l3]73-Wakf, dated 30 December, 1975 [published as notification No. S.O. 247, dated, 30 December, 1975 in the Gazette of India, Part II- Section 3-Sub-section (ii), dated 17 January, 1976] the Central Government, in consultation with the person directed by the notification of the Govern- ment of India1 in the Ministry of Law, Justice and Company Affairs (Legislative Department) No. S.O. 68 (E), dated 9th February, 1982, as amended by the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Law, Justice and Company Affairs (Legislative Department) No. S.O. 131(E), dated, 9th March, 1982 and No. S.O. 288 (E) dated 11 April, 1983 to exercise and perform all the powers and duties which may, by or under the provisions of the said Act, be exercised or performed by or on behalf of the Punjab Wakf Board, hereby appoints Shri K. Sheikh Ahmed, as Secretary of the Punjab Wakf Board for a period of one year on and from the date he assumes charge of that office.
2. Shri Khaleeq Ahmad, Section Officer, Legis- lative Department who was appointed additionally as Secretary, Punjab Wakf Board by notification No. S.O. 332(E) dated 26-4-1983 and whose appointment was extended through notifications Nos. S.O. 383(E) dated 30-5-1983, S.O. 477 (E) dated 28-6-1983 and S.O. 527 (E) dated 27-7-83 would stand relieved of his additional duties as Sec- retary, Punjab Wakf Board from the date Shri Sheikh Ahmed resumes charge of that office.
