NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 27th August, 1983
S.O. 025(E).—Iii exercise of the powers conferred by sub- section ( i; of Section 17, read with section 16 of the Forward Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1952 (74 of 1952), the Central Government hereby declares that no person shall, save with the permission of the Central Government, enter into any forward contract for the sale or purchase of juts sacking in any place in India and tixes, under clause (a) of the said section 16 aforesaid, the rate prevailing at the time at which the forward market in such goods closed on the date of this notification, or, if there was no trading on that dale, on the last preceding date of trading, as the rale at which any such forward contract other than a transferable specific delivery contract, entered inlo on or before the said date of this notification and remaining to be performed after the said dale shall b_e deemed to be closed; and in persuance of sub-section (3) of section 17, it is further declared thai section 16 shall not apply to transferable specific delivery contract for the sale Of puichasc of such goods entered hr.o on or before the dale of this notification and remaining (o be performed after the said date.
