NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 29th August, 1983

No. 254|83-CUSTOMSG.S.R. 675 (E).—-In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act 1962 (32 of 1962), and in super- session of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, No. 197|82-Customs. dated the 23rd August, 1982, the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest 658 GI/83 (1)

su UJ uo, iiciuuy CAciupis LJi-mu-uuiyicnc, nepiene and Nonene, when imported into India for the manufacture of Oxo-alcohols, from the whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon under the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975) :

Provided that the importer, by the execution of a bond in such form and for such sum as may be specified by the Assistant Collector of Customs, binds himself to pay, on demand, in respect of such quantity of Di-iso-butylene, Heptene and Nonene, as is not proved to the satisfaction of the Assistant Collector of Customs to have been used for the aforesaid purpose, an amount equal to the difference between the duty leviable on such quan- tity but for the exemption contained herein and that already paid at the time of importation.

2. This notification shall be in force upto and inclusive of the 31st day of August, 1984.

G.S.R. 676 (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), read with sub- section (4) of section 45 of the Finance Act, 1983 (11 of 1983), the Central Government being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further aniendm^t in the notification of the Gov- ernment of IndiiWl the Ministry of Finance (De- partment of Revenue) No. 126|83-Customs, dated the 13th May, 1983, namely :—

In the Schedule to the said notification,—

(a) Serial No. 200 and entry relating there- to shall be omitted;

(b) after Serial No. 227 and the entry re- lating thereto, the following Serial No. and entry shall be inserted, namelv :—

"228. No. 254|83-Customs, dated the 29th August, 1983."
