NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 15th September, 1983
G.S.R. 706(E).—The following draft of certain rules further to amend the Public Debt Rules, 1946, which the Central Government proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by sec- tion 28 of the Public Debt Act, 1944 (18 of 1944), is hereby published as required by sub-section (1) of that section for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consi- deration on or after the expiry of thirty days from the date of publication of this Notification in the Official Gazette.
Any objection or suggestion received from any person with respect to the said draft before the ex- piry of the penod so specified will be considered by the Central Government.
DRAFT RULES
1. (1) These rules may be called the Public Debt
(Amendment) Rules, 1983.
(2) They shall come into force on the date
of their publication in the Official Gazette,
2. In the Public Debt Rules, 1946, after rule 7-D, the following rule shall be inserted, namely :—
"7E. Nominations in respect of National Ru- ral Development Bonds,—The provi- sions of rules 7 A* and 7B1** shall apply mutatis mutandis in relation to the no- mination, cancellation or variation, as the case may be, in respect of National Rural Development Bonds (Second Issue) issued under sub-clause (iii) of clause (c) of Explanation I to sub-sec- tion (1) of section 54E of the Income- tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961)."
