NOTIFICATIONS

No. 266|83-CENTRAL EXERCISE

G.S.R. 826(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby exempts the exposed cinematograph films, falling under sub-item II(i) of Item No. 37 of the First Schedule to the Central Excises and Salt Act. 1944(1 of 1944), from t he whole of the duty of excise leviable thereon under section 3 of the said Act:

Provided that the exemption contained in this notification shall apply only to such exposed cinematograph films as are certified by the Central Board of Film Certification or the Chief Produ- cer. No. 267183-CENTRAL EXCISES

G.S.R. 827 (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of thte Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No.78/79-Central Excise, dated the 1st March, 1979, namely :—

In the said notification, for the proviso, the following proviso shall bs substituted namelv :—•

"Provided that the exemption contained in this notification shall apply only to such cinematograph films as are certified by the Central Board of Film Certification as films which are predominantly educational."

G.S.R.828 (E):—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No.8l|83-Central Excises, dated the 1st March. 1983, namely:—

In the said notification, after SI. No. 87 and the

entry relating thereto, the following Sl.No. and entry shall be inserted, namely :—

"88 No. 266|33-Central Excises, dated 5th

November 1983".
