NOTIFICATIONS

No. 304|83-CUSTOMS
G.S.R. 84KE).—In exercise of Uie powers con- ferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Cus- toms Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 221-Customs, dated ihe 12th Novemher, J980, the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts goods specified in the Table below, when imported into India by Indian Red Cross Society, from—
((a) the whole of the duty of Customs leviable thereon under the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), and
(b) the whole of the additional duty leviable thereon under section 3 of the said Cus- toms Tariff Act,
subject to the condition that a certificate from the Secretary General, Indian Red Cross Society is pro- duced to the Assistant Collector <.£ Customs to the effect that the goods in question are required for purposes of rdief to the distressed persons,.

G.S.R. 842(E).—In exercise of the powers con- ferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Cus- toms Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), read With sub-section (4) of section 45 of the Finance Act, 1983 (11 of 1983), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the noti- fication of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 126-Cus- toms, dated the 13th May, 1983, namely :—
In the Schedule annexed to the said notification,
(i) Serial No. 168 and the entry relating there-
to shall be omitted;
(ii) After Serial No. 238 and the entry relating thereto, the following Serial No. and entry shall be inserted, namely :—
"239 No. 304|83-Customs, dated 15th
Nov., 1983".
