NOTIFICATIONS
New Delhi, the 23rd November, 1983
O.N. 110(E).—Whereas a vacancy has occur- red in the House of the People by reason of the death of Shri Kedar Pandey, a member elected to that House from 2-Bettia Parliamentary Constituency in the State of Bihar;
Now, therefore in pursuance of the provisions of sub section (1) of section 149 of the Represen- tation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission hereby calls upon the said constituency to elect a person to fill the said vacancy before the 31st December, 1983 (Satur- day) in accordance with the provisions of he said Act and of the Rules and Orders made there- under.

2 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(iii)]O.N. 111(E).—In pursuance of section 30 of the Representation or the People Act, 1951 (43 of 195i). the Election Commission hereby ap- points, with respect to the bye-election to be held in 2 Bettiah Parliamentary Constituency in the State of Bihar in pursuance of its Notification No. 1OO|BR|HP|1|83 (1), dated the 23rd Nov- ember, 1983 :—
(a) the 30th November, 1983 (Wednesray) as the last date for making nominations;
(b) the 1st December, 1983 (Thursday) as the date for the scrutiny of nominations;
(c) the 3rd December, 1983 (Saturday) as the last date for withdrawal of candi- datures;
(d) the 23rd December, 1983 (Friday) as the date on which a poll shall, if neces- sary, be taken; and
(c) the 31st December, 1983 (Saturday) as the date before which the election shall be completed,

O.N. 112(E).—In pursuance of secion 56 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission hereby fixes the hours from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. as the hours during which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken for the bye-elecion to the House of the People from 2-Bettiah Parliamentary Constituency, to be held in pursuance of its Notification No. 1OO[BR-HP[1[83 (1), dated the 23rd November, 1983.
