NOTIFICATIONS

New Delhi, the 16th December, 1983

No. 289|83-CENTRAL EXCISESG.S.R. 890(E).—In exercise of the powers con- ferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 116|82- Central Excises, dated the 13th March, 1982, the Central Government hereby exempts zinc ingots, falling under Item No. 26B (1) 1173 GI/83

of the First Schedule to the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) and used in the manufacture of zinc dust, from the whole of the duty of excise leviable thereon under section 3 of the said Act:

Provided that where such use is elswhere than in the factory of production of such zinc ingots, the procedure set out in Chaper X of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, is followed :

Provided further that such zinc dust is return- ed to the factory of production of zinc ingot* within such period as the Assistant Collector of Central Excise, having jursidiction over the fac- tory of production of zinc ingots, may specify.

NO. 290|83-CENTRAL EXCISES

G.S.R. 891 (E).—In exercise of the powers con- ferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Ex- cise Rules 1944, the Central Government hereby exempts zinc dust manufactured out of zinc ingots, falling under Item No. 26B of the First Schedule to the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) and used in the manufacture ©f zinc unwrought, from the whole of the duty of excise leviable thereon under section 3 of the said Act :

Provided that where such use is elsewhere than in the factory of production of such zinc dust, the procedure set out in Chapter X of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, is followed.

NO. 291I83-CENTRAL EXCISES

G.S.R. 892(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of the 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government here- by makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 81|83-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1983, namely :—

In the Schedule annexed to the said notifica- tion, after SI. No. 93 and the entry relating thereto, the following SI. Nos. and entries shaS be inserted, .namely :—

"94 No. 289|83-Central Excises, dated the 16th December, 1983.

95 No. 290|83-Central Excises, dated the 16th December, 1983".
