ORDER
New Delhi, the 31st December, 1983
S.O. 949(E)|18A[IDRA|83.—Whereas the Central Government, in exercise of N?e powers con- ferred by sub-section (1) of section 18A of the Industries (Development and Regulation) Act, 1951 (65 of 1951), by the Order of the Government of India in the erstwhile Ministry of Industrial Deve- lopment No. S.O. 601(E), dated the 8th October, 1974, authorised the Board of Management speci- fied therein to take over the management of the whole of the industrial undertaking, namely Messrs Eastern Distilleries Private Limited, Calcutta, for a period of five years commencing from the 8th October, 1974;
And, whereas, by the Order of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Industry (Department of Industrial Development) No. S.O. 237(E), dated the 1st May, 1979, issued in partial modification of the said Order No. S.O. 601 (E), dated the 8th October, 1974, the Central Government autho- rised the Secretary, Sick and Closed Industries De- partment (now known as Industrial Reconstruction Department), Government of West Bengal, Cal- cutta to take over the management of the aforesaid industrial undertaking for the remaining period of five years from the 8th October, 1974;
And, whereas, by the Orders oi the Government of India (Department of Industrial Development) No. S.O. 556(E), dated the 28th September, 1979, No. S.O. 838(E), dated the 7th October, 1980, No. 737(E), dated the 6th October, 1981, S.O. 718(E), dated the 7th October, 1982 and S.O. 387(E), dated the 31st May, 1983, issued from time to time, the Central Government directed that the said Order shall continue to have effect- for a further period upto and inclusive of the 31st December, 1983;
And, whereas, the Central Government is of opinion that it is expedient in the public .interest that the said Order should continue to have effect for a further period upto and inclusive of the ?Oth June, 1984;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers con- ferred by the proviso to sub-section (2) of section 18A of the Industries (Development and Regula- tion) Act, 19,51 (65 of 1951), the Central Gov- ernment hereby directs that the said Order shall continue to have effect for a further period upto and inclusive of the 30fh June, 1984.
