S.O. 40(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub- section (1) of section 9 of the Industries (Development and Regulation) Act, 1951 (65 of 1951). the Central Government hereby specifies the classes of goods manufactured or produced wholly or in part of jute in the Scheduled Industry of Textiles as mentioned in column (2) of the Table below on which a duty of excise shall be levied and collected as a cess for the purposes of the said Act, for the period commencing on and from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazelle and upto and inclusive of the 29ih February 1984, at such rates as specified in,the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table.
