NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 31st January, 1984
G.S.R. 49(E).—Whereas the Central Government is satisfied that the use of the drug Melhaqualoue is likely to involve risk to human beings and that it is necessary and expedient in the public interest so to do;
Now, therefore, in exercise ot the powers conferred by sec- tion 26 A of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 (23 of 1940), the Central Government hereby make" the following amendment in the notification of the Government ot India in tht- Ministry of Health and Family Welfare No. X n O i 4 1 | 8 3 - D MS & PFA dated 23rd July, 1983, G.S.R. 578(E), dated the 23rd M y, 1983, namely :—
In the Table appended to the said notification, alter serial number 22 and the entry relating thereto, the following serial number and entry shall be inserted, namely :—
"23. Methaqualone."
