NOTIFICATIONS

New Delhi, the 13th February, 1984

No. 16/84-CUSTOMSG.S.R. 60(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts Palm Fatty Acid and Palm, Stearin Fatty Acid, fulling within Chapter 15 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), when imported into India for the manu- facture of soap or grease, from so much portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon under the said First Schedule us is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of 15 per cent ad valorem : ( I) 1419 GI/83

Provided that the importer, il not an actual user, sells the imported Palm Fatty Acid and Palm Stearin Fatty Acid to actual users engaged in the manufacture oi' soap or grease at prices fixed for that purpose by the Monitoring Committee constituted by the Ministry of Courunerce in this behalf.

2. This- notification shall be in force upto and inclusive

of the 31st day of March, 19K4.

G.S.R. 61 (E).—Tn exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), read with sub-section (4) of section 45 of the Finance Act, m3 (11 of 1983), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministi y of Finance, Department of Revenue No. 126/83-Customs, dated the 13th May, 1983, namely ;—

In the Schedule to the said notification, after Serial No. 244 and the entry relating thereto, the following Serial No. and entry shall be insetted, namely : —

"245. No. 16/84—Customs, dated the 13th February,

1984,"
