का. आ. 233 (क) केन्द्रीय सरकार , लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम , 1950 (1950 का 43 ) की धारा 28 द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए , निर्वाचन आयोग से परामर्श करमे के पश्चात् निर्वाचक रजिस्ट्रीकरण नियम , 1960 का और संशोधन करने के लिए निम्नलिखित नियम बनाती है , अर्थात
1. संक्षिप्त नाम और प्रारम्भ (1) इन नियमों का संक्षिप्त नाम निर्वाचक रजिस्ट्रीकरण (संशोधन) नियम , 1984 है ।

(2) ये राजपत्र में प्रकाशन की तारीख को प्रवृप्त होंगे ।
2. नियम 22 का संशोधन : उक्त नियमों के नियम 22 में , उप-मियम (1) में, -
(1) खण्ड ( क) में , अन्त में आने वाले " तथा " शब्द का लोप किया जाएगा ;
(2) खण्ड (ख) में , अन्त में " तथा" शब्द अन्तः स्थापित किया जाएगा ; और
(3) खण्ड (ख) के पश्चात् निम्नलिखित खण्ड , खण्ड (ग) के रूप में मन्तःस्थापित किया जाएगा , अर्थात्
" (ग) ऐसे साधारण या विशेष निदेशों के अधीन रहते हुए जो निर्वाचन आयोग दे , ऐसे प्रत्येक राजनैतिक दल को , जिसके लिए निर्वाचन आयोग ने कोई प्रतीक अनन्य रूप से आरक्षित किया है , अन्तिम रूप से प्रकाशित नामावली की दो प्रतियों का, संशोधनों की , यदि कोई हों, सूची सहित , निःशुल्क प्रदाय करेगा । "

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 31st March , 1984
S.O. 233 (E) . In exercise of the powers conferred by section 28 of the Representation of the People Act , 1950 (43 of 1950 ) , the Central Government , after consulting the Election Commis- sion, hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Rgistration of Electors Rules , 1960 , namely :-
1. Short title and commencement. ( 1 ) These rules may be called the Registration of Electors (Amendment ) Rules , 1984.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of the publica- tion in the Official Gazette .

2. Amendment of rule 22 .-- In rule 22 of the said rules , in sub- rule ( 1 ) ,-
(i) in clause (a) , the word ' and ' occurring at the end shall be omitted;
(ii) in clause (b) , the word ' and ' shall be inserted at the end; and
(iii ) after clause (b) , the following clause shall be inserted as clause (c) , namely :-
" (c) subject to such general or special directions as may be given by the Election Commission supply, free of cost , two copies of the roll as finally published, with the list of amendments , if any, to every poli- tical party for which a symbol has been exclusively reserved by the Election Commission . " .
