Subject : Import and Export Policy for April 1984- March 1985- Export of new products or to new markets.

the Inports and Export Policy for April 1984- March 1:985, published under tte Ministry of Commerce Public Notice No, 18-rTC(PN)/84 dated the 12th April, 1984, as amended.
2. In terms of para 224 of the import policy, Regis- tered Exporters exporting a new product or export products to a new market are eligible for REP licence against such exports at a rate higher by 10 % of the normil rate i.e. 11 % instead of normal 10 %, and *so on. This provision is applicable only in respect of the products and the markets which may be specified for the purpose by Ministry of Commerce, from time to time.
3. Ministry of Commerce had specified under product Group B. Chemicals and Allied Products, tho3e products the export of which to the markets mentioned against each, and a list of new products tlw export of which to any market, qualify for REP at a higher rate in torms of the aforesaid provision. Th^se lists wire notified vide Ministry of Commerce Public Notice No, 5ITC (PN)/84 dated the 1 st February 1984 reproduced in Appendix 24 of Import and Export Policy (Vol.T), 1984-85.
4. Ministry of Commerce have specified a further list of products covered by Product Group B. Chemi- cals and Allied Products, export of which to the markets specified against each will qualify for higher REP in terms of para 224 of Import and Export Policy (Vol. I), 1984-85. The list is given in Annexure to this Public Notice.
5. REP benefits will be permissible subject to the exports having been made as per the relevant policy.
6. This Public Notice is applicable in respect of
exports made on or after 1st April, 1984.
