G.S.R. 412(E).—In exercise ot the powers conietred by sub- rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules. 1944, the Central Government hereby exempts pipes and tubes, excluding shells and blanks, therefor falling under sub-item (3), and shells and blanks, for pipes and tubes falling under sub-item (4), of Jiem No. 26A of the First Schedule to the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (I of 1944), from so much of the duty of excise leviable thereon under the &aid Act at the rate specified in the ,iaid First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rale ol twenty per cent, ad valorem.
