NOTIFICATION

No. 141|84-Central ExcisesG.S.R. 438 (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 11C of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Gov- ernment, being satisfied that according to a practice that was generally prevalent regarding levey of the duty of excise (including non-levy thereof), under 313 GI/84 (1)

Finance Act, 1982 (14 of 1982), dn such cellulose xanthate, shall not be required to be paid in respect of such cellulose xanthate, on which the duty of excise and special duty of excise was not levied during the period aforesaiid, in accordance with the said practice.

[F. No. 93|13|83-CX.3] the said Act, the duty of excise on cellulose xanth- ate, falling under Item No. 15A of the First sche- dule to the said Act and used in the manufacture of cellophane or viscose filament yarn, was not being levied under section 3 of the said Act, during the period commencing on the 28th February, 1982 and ending with the 12th November, 1982, hereby directs that the whole"6F the duty of excise leviable under the said Act and the special duty of excise leviable under sub-section (1) of section 50 of the
