GSR-446(E):—In exercise of the powers con- ferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts Poly- mer plate processing equipments, falling within Chapter 90 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), when imported into India for use in newspaper industry, from so much of that portion of the duty of customs levi- able thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of 40 per cent Ad Valorem.

(21 of 1984), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so do to, hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 136|84-Customs, dated the 11th May, 1984,
namely:—
In the Schedule to he said notification, after Serial No. 43 and the entry relating thereto, the following Serial No. and entry shall be inserted, namely:—
"44,No. 180|84-Customs, dated the 14th June,
1984".
