R. 457 (E):—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, and in supersession of the Notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 172]83-Cetntral Excises, dated the 30th June, 1983, the Central Government hereby exempts goods of the description specified in the Schedule hereto annexed and falling under Item No. 68 of the First Schedule to the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), ffom the whole of the duty of excise leviable thereon under section 3 of the said Act.
