NOTIFICATIONS
O.N. 31(E).—Whereas the President has, by notification published in the Gazette of India on the 18th June, 1984, called upon the elected mem- bers of the Legislative Assembly of the Union Ter- ritory of Mizoram to elect to the Council of States one member from that Union Territory;

date for making nominations;
(b) 26th June, 1984 (Tuesday), as the date
for the scrutiny of nominations;
(c) 28th June, 1984 (Thursday), as the last date for the withdrawal of candida- tures;
(d) 5th July, 1984 (Thursday), as the date on which a poll shall, if necessary be taken; and
(e) 9th July, 1984 (Monday), as the date be- fore which the election shall be comple- ted.

O.N. 32(E).—In exercise of the powers confer- red by section 56 of the Representation of the people Act, 1951, the Election Commission here- by fixes the hours from 10.00 A.M. to 2.00 P.M. as the hours during which a poll shall, if neces- sary, be taken for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of its notification No. 318|MIZ|84 (1), dated the 18th June, 1984.
[No. 318|MIZ|84|(2)] O.N. 33(E).—In exercise of the powers confer- red by section 21 of the Representation of the people Act, 1951, the Election Commission, in con- sultation with the Government of Union Territory of Mizoram, hereby designates Seceretary, Legislative Assembly, Mizoram, to be the Returning Officer for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of its notification No. 318|MIZ|84 (1), dated the 18th June, 1984.

O.N. 34(E).—In exercise of the powers confer- red by sub-section (1) of section 22 of the Represen- tation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Com- mission hereby appoints Under Secretary, Legisla- tive Assembly Mizoram, to assist the Returning Officer for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of its notification No. 318( MIZ/84(1), dated the i8th June, 1984, in the per- formance of his functions.
