NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 7th July, 1984

No. 157/84-CENTRAL-EXCISESG.S.R. 497 (E).—In exercise of the powers con- ferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 153/84-Central Excises, dated the 1st July, 1984, the Central Government hereby exempts Transformers of rating above 300 K.V.A., falling under Item No. 68 of the First Sche- dule to the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), from so much of the duty of excise leviable thereon under the said Act at the rate specified in the 454 GI/84 (1)

said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of seven and a half per cent ad-valorem.

2. This notification shall be in force upto and

inclusive of the 30th September, 1984.
