G.S.R. 499(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub- section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Cential Government, being satisfied that it is necessary Jn the public inteiest so to do, hereby exempts cable insulating, impreg- nating and filling compounds, falling within Chapter 38 or Chapter 39 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 fo 1975), when imported mto India, from so much of that pi rtion of the duty of customs leviable thereon under the said First Schedule as is in excsss of the amount calculated at the rate of 40 percent ad valorem.
