G S.R. 508(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub- section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is neces- sary in the public interest so to do. hereby exempts fodder and hay, falling urWer Heading No. 21 of the Second Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (.51 of 1975), when exported out of India in reasonable quantities alongwith live animals for their consumption during the course of voyage, from the whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon under the said Second Schedule.
Explanation :—For the purposes of this notification, "reasonable quantities" means such quantities as may be determined by the proper officer, having regard to the size of the vessel or aircraft, the nature of animals, numbers of animals and the length of the voyage or iourney on which the vessel or aircraft is about to depart.
