G.S.R. 604(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sec- tion 11C of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Governmefft.^being satisfied that according to ,a prac- tice that was generally prevalent regarding levy of duty of excise (including non-levy thereof), un4f-r the said Act, the duty of excise on vegetable product, falling under Item No. 13 of the First Schedule to the" said Act, was not being levied under sec- tion 3 of the said Act at the rate specified in the said First Sche- dule during the period commencing from the 11th May, 1984 and ending with the 31st May, 1984, hereby directs that the duty of excise jn excess of five per cenr. ad valorem, leviable under the said Act, on such vegetable product shall not be required to be paid in respect of such vegetable product, on which the duty of excise in excess of five per cent, ad valorem was not levide during the period aforesaid in accordance with the said practice.
