G.S.R. 611 (E) .—In exercise ol the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 124 of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963), the Central Government hereby approves the Tuticorin Port Employees; (General Provident Fund) Amendment Regulations, 1984 made by the Board of Trustees for the Port of Tuticorin, as set out in the Schedule attached.
2. They shall conic into force from the date of publication of this Notification in the official Gazette.

(1) Short title and commencement.—(1) These reguations may be called The Tuticorin Port Employees (General Provident Fund) Amendment Regula- tions, 1984.
(2) In the Tuticorin Port Employees (Gene- ral Provident Fund) Regulations, 1979-
(i) sub-regulation (4) of Regulation 4 shall be deleted and the existing sub- regulations (5) and (6) shall be re- numbered as (4) and (5) respective-
(ii) In sub-regulation (2) of Regulation 17, the words, "On superannuation whichever is earlier from the amount" shall be inserted between the words "before the date of his retirement" and, "of subscription and interest thereon"
(iii) In Note I belew Regulation 17, the words and figures "Regulation 16" shall be substituted by the words and figures "Regulation 17".
(iv) In Note 2 below Regulation 17, the words and figures "Regulation 16" shall be substituted by the words and figures, "Regulation 17".
NOTE : The Principal Regulations, namely,
(1) the Tuticorin Port Employees General Provident Fund Regulations, 1979, were published, vide GSR No. 236(E) in the Gazette of India dated the 16th March, 1979.
