NOTIFICATION
No.7-7/EC/DNHⅅ/2025: In exercise of the powers conferred on it under Rule 24 and 25 of the Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Panchayats (Election Procedure) Rules, 2023 and in supersession of all its previous notifications regarding appointment of Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers, the Election Commission for the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, hereby appoints, in consultation with the Administrator of the Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, the officers mentioned in column (2) of the table below as Returning Officers and the officers mentioned in column (3) of the table as Assistant Returning Officers for the wards shown in column (4) against their designation for the forthcoming General Election to Panchayats in the UT of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.

As provided under sub-rule (2) of Rule 25 of the said Rules, every Assistant Returning Officer shall subject to the control of the Returning Officer, be competent to perform all or any of the functions of the Returning Officer provided that no Assistant Returning Officer shall perform any of the functions of the Returning Officer which relate to the scrutiny of nominations unless the Returning Officer is unavoidably prevented from performing the said function.
