No. KP-17 of 2000- NPF- 2000-848 - CH : The Government , of Gujarat, has perceived the need to provide an impetus to information technology and basic telecommunication network facilities in the State of Gujarat.
In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub -section 8 of Section- 200 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act . 1993 (Gujarat XVIII of 1993) , the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following order , namely : -
No Octroi shall be levied by any Gram Panchayats on the items mentioned below brought within the Octroi limit of any Gram Panchayats of Gujarat State exclusively meant for the purpose of telecommuni- cation network and for Information Technology purposes .
1. IT Software means any representation of instructions , data , sound or image, including source code , and object code, recorded in a machine readable form, and capable of being manipulated or providing inter activity to a user by means of an automatic data processing machine falling under IT products as defined under Government Resolution No. INP- 1099-252 - ITD dated 9th March, 1999 ( i.e. anything con- tained in a floppy disk, compact disk , hard disk or magnetic tape . )
