NOTIFICATION

MINES AND MINERALS (DEVELOPMENT AND REGULATION) ACT, 1957.

No. GU/2025/25/MCR/102019/MM-720/CHH: In exercise of the powers conferred by section 15 of the Mines and Mineral (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (67 of 1957), the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Gujarat Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 2017, namely:-

1. (1) These rules may be called the Gujarat Minor Mineral Concession (Second Amendment) Rules, 2025. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. IV-A Ex.-92 92-1 92-2 GUJARAT GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, EX., 23-06-2025 [ PART IV-A 2. In the Gujarat Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 2017, in rule 29, (i) in sub-rule (2), for the second proviso, the following proviso shall be substituted, namely:-

"Provided further that, such person shall make a written representation before the Government with relevant documents on or before 23rd of May, 2025, and if the Government deems fit, it may issue a letter of intent on or before 31st of August, 2025, which shall entitle such person to obtain a quarry lease, in the same manner as if such letter of intent was issued before the commencement of these rules;"

(ii) in sub-rule (3),

(a) the words "and execute a lease deed" shall be deleted.

(b) for the words "eight years", the words "ten years" shall be substituted.
