NOTIFICATION
Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar, 23rd June, 2025
THE GUJARAT TOWN PLANNING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT ACT, 1976.
No.GH/V/211 of 2025/UDUHD/MSM/e-file/18/2025/0145/L : WHEREAS, the State Government in Urban Development And Urban Housing Department by Notification No. KV-17 of 2025-UDUHD/COC/e-file/18/2024/6140/P dated 01.01.2025 constituted the Municipal Corporation of the city of Mahesana comprising the larger urban area as specified in the Urban Development And Urban Housing Department Notification No. KV-16 of 2025-UDUHD/ COC/e-file/18/ 2024/6140/P dated 01.01.2025 under the provision of Gujarat Provincial Municipal Corporations Act, 1949 (Bom.LIX of 1949);
AND WHEREAS, Mahesana Municipality was designated as area development authority under sub-section (1) of Section 6 of the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976 (President's Act No.27 of 1976) (herein after referred to as the "said Act") vide Government notification No. GHB/20/UDA-1177-646(2)-Q Dated 30.01.1978 and thereafter by Notification No. GH/V/15 of 2008/UDA/112007/329/L, dated 13.02.2008;

269-1269-2 GUJARAT GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, EX., 23-06-2025 [ PART IV-B AND WHEREAS, the State Government is of opinion that the object of proper development or re-development of the area within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation of the city of Mahesana specified in column 4 of the schedule appended hereto will be best served by entrusting the work of development or re-development thereof to urban development authority instead of to an area development authority;
AND WHEREAS, the Government of Gujarat is satisfied to dissolve under section 120 of the said Act, the Mahesana Area Development Authority designated under Section 6 of the said Act with immediate effect and instead constitute the Urban Development Authority under section 22 of the said Act;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1), (2) and (4) of section 22, section 18, sub-section (1), (2) and (3) of section-23 and sub-section (1) of section 120 of the said Act the Government of Gujarat hereby,-
(i) dissolve the Mahesana Area Development Authority;
(ii) declares the areas within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation of the city of Mahesana specified in column 4 of the said schedule to be an urban development area (hereafter referred as "the said urban development area");
(iii) defines the areas within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation of the city of Mahesana specified in column 4 of the said schedule to be the limits of the said urban development area;
(iv) constitutes the authority for the said urban development area to be called "Mahesana Urban Development Authority" which shall consist of the following members, namely:-

| 6. | Joint Secretary, UD & UHD Municipal Corporation Branch | Ex-Officio Member |
| 7. | President of District Panchayat, Mahesana | Ex-Officio Member |
| 8. | Chief Town Planner or his representative not below the rank of Additional Chief Town Planner | Ex-Officio Member |
| 9. | Chief Engineer, Mahesana Municipal Corporation | Ex-Officio Member |
| 10. | Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Mahesana Municipal Corporation | Member Secretary and Chief Executive Authority |
(v) The office of Vapi Urban Development Authority shall be within the jurisdiction of Vapi Municipal Corporation;
(vi) directs the Vapi Urban Development Authority to prepare and publish a draft development plan for the areas included within its jurisdiction for which there is no Development Plan as of now, within three months from the date of this notification or within such time as the State Government may, from time to time, extend under section 18 of the said Act and to further undertake the exercise for submitting this Draft Development Plan to the State Government as per the statutory provision and
(vii) All the powers and functions of the Urban Development Authority mentioned in sub-section (1) of section-23 henceforth shall be delegated to Vapi Municipal Corporation under sub-section (2) of section-23 till further order.
